I bet on a preseason NBA game today.

Oh, yea I wasn't lying about the title of this blog. I am a TRUE NBA degenerate.

Heading into this season I am more prepared and locked into following the league than ever. With all my research for this season. I came to the conclusion that I think the Pacers are going to be good. Really good.

Every talking head smarty pants blogger and podcaster has hated on the Pacers off season moves. I even sent a couple mail bag questions to people on why the Pacers weren't considered in the Boston/Toronto tier as contenders for the Eastern Conference. Each one dismissed them.

"Jeff Teague isn't an upgrade, over Hill."
"Most people don't realize Mahinmi was really good for the Pacers last year."
"Getting Al Jefferson doesn't make a lot of sense."

Give me a break. Teague is a much better fit and player for what the Pacers need. They desperately needed another play maker and facilitator. Pacers were 25th in off eff last year. Hill wasn't cutting it.

Young is a legit NBA starter, where Mahinmi is a nice bench player. Another upgrade.

Last time I checked Paul George is by far the 2nd best player in the east. He is surrounded by 3 good ball handling/scoring guards in Teague/Ellis/Stucky. 2 good slashers Young/Miles and 2 solid centers in Turner and Big Al, and other solid 8-11 guys in Aaron Brooks, Allen, Seraphin. There is just so much to like about the Pacers roster.

People say it's always smart to bet against the public. It looks like to me the NBA blogesphere has become the public.

So that's why I couldn't wait. I had to bet on the Pacers first preseason game +4 in New Orleans. And now I am watching the game on a shitty illegal steam that I found on Reddit. Oh yea and it's my wife's birthday today.

It's going to be a fun season.

Gambling on the NBA is hard. The reason why is simple. When Kings vs Denver come on as the late game, its super tempting to toss some money on the game even though you don't have a strong feeling either way.

So to combat those temptations, I decided to make a daily blog to  post my bets publicly in an effort to make my self more disciplined. Hope you guys enjoy it.
